August 24th 2007 was a big evening for Galt Parks and Rec. department.
They sponsored three events around the same time and place.
1. The Tony Gora Aquatic Center was open to the public. The skate park was open and full
of activity. Free hot dogs, soda and chips to the first 200 people was
enjoyed by all. The kids enjoyed the face painting available to all.
2. A dance for the 7th and 8th graders.
3. A STAR dance and karaoke in Chabolla Center.

Dad and Rachael (6) with her "river" are showing off their body art done by Mikayla Tabor
and Talease Smith.

Mikayla is painting some old guy.

Once again the bounce house was quite busy.

A couple of dozen boys were skating all evening

I quickly spotted these males all dressed alike in dark blue colors that were
hanging around loitering. I was sure that this was some kind of gang
activity. It turned out to be
CAPS, the acronym for Citizens
Assisting Police
Service

These three are having fun after finishing the volunteer work. Mercedes
(13), Shay Johnson (14) and John Johnson (15) are all willing to assist in
community events.

This is the monthly meeting for STAR, the acronym for Special
Teen & Adult
Recreation.

One of the members amazed everyone with his great Karaoke performance.
