The Galt City Council meeting on August 21, 2007 presented the Galt
Beautification Committee with the Dixie Johnson Memorial Beautification
recognition certificates. This was acknowledging their achievement and
contribution to the beautification of the City of Galt, with ongoing graffiti
removal and the planting and maintaining flowers at various sites throughout the
City. The award was presented by Council member Barbara Payne on behalf of the
Galt City Council. She said, "The Beautification Committee received the
award because of the impact and difference the committee has made to the
community of Galt. (not just the beautification aspect, but the dedication shown
by each individual."

Dixie Johnson was a remarkable and dedicated person that was credited with
improving the visual image in Galt. The most noted beautiful display is the the
triangle display of flowers and the Welcome to Galt display to the down town
entrance.
